HVAC Service Technician/Installer
Compensation: Based on experience

Bud Matthews Services, a mid-sized, family-owned contractor serving the Greater Chapel Hill area for over 40 years, is seeking a residential HVAC Service Technician/Installer. This position requires knowledge of all aspects of the HVAC trade.
Position duties/tasks:
- Troubleshoot, repair, service, and install all types of HVAC equipment, including heat pumps, package units, straight AC and mini-splits
- Provide training and technical support for other service technicians
- Effectively communicate with customer by asking/answering questions and making recommendations for replacement options for aging and inefficient systems
- Use mobile dispatch app on phone/pad device to properly record work order notes, service follow-up/recommendations, and prepare customer invoices
- Keep truck inventory stocked and organized
Position requirements:
- 5 or more years of field experience as an HVAC mechanic technician
- Tools for the trade
- Knowledge of North Carolina mechanical and electrical codes
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Energetic personality
- Well-organized and ability to work independently
- Valid driver’s license

Admin Support for HVAC/Plumbing Service Company
Compensation: Competitive

Bud Matthews Services, a licensed mechanical contractor, specializing in residential HVAC, plumbing, and appliance repair/replacement is seeking an experienced dispatcher with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in a service-related company to join our team. The desired candidate must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Position duties/tasks:
- Take incoming customer calls
- Schedule and maintain the dispatch board for all service calls
- Obtain advance repair approval when necessary and update work orders in the service database
- Effectively address and resolve customer concerns and/or complaints
- Provide administrative assistance to constructive department manager
Position requirements:
- Ability to communicate empathy

Position duties/tasks:
- Perform skilled electrical duties required to provide new service or make electrical modifications for residential construction
- Determine condition of electrical equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and determine needed repairs
- Identify materials and quantities needed for new and repair projects
- Evaluate customer requests and provide work order descriptions and cost estimates
- Follow established processes and procedures
